Student iPhone Orchestra

Docs & Non-Fiction (Computers / Tech), Music (Live)
[ 5:49 - from Wired ]

Computer - Science students at The University of Michigan have ended their course work with an ensemble performance of 'Drone' entirely on the iPhone. The iPhone is an interesting instrument as it features multple touch options and the accelerometer. The students created the 'instruments' by programming them using the Apple-provided software-development kit.

Frequent quoter of big ideas including Hermann Hesse's 1936 poem Hours in the Garden - "I hear music and see men of the past and future. I see wise men and poets and scholars and artists harmoniously building the hundred-gated cathedral of Mind."
