Thousand-Hand Guan Yin

Docs & Non-Fiction (Religion / Spirituality), Music (Dance)
[ 5:55 - from YouTube ]
Classic

Although this can feel like a spiritual rockette show at times, this dance tribute to the thousand-hand Guan Yin, the Buddhist bodhisattva of compassion (revered by Buddhists as the Goddess of Mercy) is actually quite stunning and very trippy. The synchronization of the dancers is so precise that it creates the effective illusion of a kind of kaleidescopic multiplication of limbs and heads arising from one body that is very cool to watch.  At almost 8 million viewers, it's becoming a classic must-see video.
